Galantis

Aud.Max., Monday October 17th

Headliner for UKA i Ås? Who can that be? Norway is the 62. largest country in the world, but then we are thinking of land area. In terms of people, we lie on no more than number 120. Ås is the 59th on the list of largest communes in Norway, and we are about 19 thousand people in total. Is this really the place a big, hot-shot star will chose to fly in? For a long time it seemed absurd, but all of a sudden it happened. And it happened big time.

Guys, the worlds 27th most played band are coming to ÅsNone other than GALANTIS!

“This is cant be real” the head of UKA said when our booking team got Galantis to UKA, and that is not without reason. The superduo Galantis has by 2016 shot in record speed to the ranking of one of the world most played band in the world. They are 27th in the world on Spotify, they have about 17,3 million listeners a month, and the superhit “No Money” has crazy 288 million of plays. Behind that hit lies “Runaway (You and I)” with about 266 million plays, not to mention the big-time hit “Peanut Butter Jelly” which lies on 121 million. We are talking about the hottest right now, even hotter than freshly poured asphalt at a wind still summer day in Ås sentrum!

In October Galantis are travelling on a tour of Europe - Norway will have one and only one concert and it will be in Aud.Max. This will be a night for the history books, because UKA will host two of the worlds hottest producers. We are currently waking up in the morning hoping we did not just dream it up. But it is true, and now we can finally release the years headliner in black and white: Galantis are playing at UKA I Ås 2016!

We’ll see you Monday 17th of October! And guys, check out the whole “Pharmacy” from 2015, its awesome, with hit after hit…! UKA i Ås are shaping up, and it will be wild. We are crazy excited for October!

18 year old Norwegian Alan Walker is one of the most successful artist of 2016 with his hit singles "Faded" and "Sing Me To Sleep".

“Faded” has sold 8,3 million units worldwide and the music video has 638 million views on YouTube. It was #1 on the singles sales chart in 10 countries across Europe and recently reached #80 on Billboard Hot 100 in the US. It was also #1 on the Global Shazam chart for 7 consecutive weeks and #1 on the European Radio chart for 6 consecutive weeks.

His latest single “Sing Me To Sleep” was released in the beginning of June and is a top 10 record in several countries and was recently remixed by Marshmello.

Alan has spent the summer on The Walker Tour and visited major festivals across Europe and Asia. He also joined Rihanna’s Anti World Tour as supporting act in Glasgow and Munich.

Growing up in the digital era, Alan found an early interest in computers that later turned into a fascination for programming and graphic design. In 2012 he started making music on his laptop with the help and feedback from his online friends. His music gained great popularity among gamers who used Alan’s tracks in their own YouTube videos (UGC) and the songs spread all over the world.

Freddy Kalas

Aud.Max., Saturday 8th of October

On Saturday October 8, during no less than the opening weekend of UKA, we’re set for a party in AudMax. We’ll have the party king himself, Freddy Kalas, visiting us, and all is set for an unforgettable concert!

Freddy Kalas is known as “The King of Parties”, “The King of Drammen” and “Broiler’s Brother”, to mention some – a pet child has many names. He’s dominated the Norwegian hit lists throughout the last few years with songs like “Pinne for landet”, “Fest hos Kalas”, and super-hit Eurovision contribution “Feel Da Rush”. In addition, Kalas is the man behind this summer’s national plague “Jovial”. The scene is set for an amazing evening as Kalas brings 100% good times and good vibes to AudMax. It will be amazingly tacky, people will be singing along and there is predicted to be an extremely high party factor. This is the night to let your inhibitions go, have fun and blast through your limits!

Do you feel the rush? Or do you feel like an above average "jovial" person? No matter, this is one of the many moments you probably don’t want to miss during UKA!

General Forsamling

General Forsamling

Halvors Hybel, Sunday 9th of October

Its called to general assembly ("General forsamling") - but not the formal, slow type we are used to.

General Forsamling is the sound of ”jær-blues” – the part of this country where surfers follows intens waves that smashes hard down on the sandbeaches and fields. Their blues is about the dark side of this region wich is so rich in both topsoil and money. Their texts is about empty beer bottles, fading faith, the country animal and not always making the best decisions. All in all it may sound like a big Sunday depression and hangover – the perfect cure for a beer in Halvors Hybel!

General Forsamling have been a warm up for Tønes on concerts all over the country. He has made himself noted with his resigneted, gloomy voice, the simple, but melodic giutarplay and the crying harmonica. 9th of October he plays in Halvors Hybel on "softesøndag"!

The SoftSunday Concerts are free!

Razika

Festsalen, Wednesday October 12th

Razika has many years been an audience favorite, with the combination of rock, skabeats and pop melodies. They released their album “Ut til de andre” in 2015, which placed them in the top of Norwegian bands, and today there is almost no one that has not heard of Razika.

This band from Bergen can make even the most quiet of people sing along to the simple, descriptive and direct lyrics. They are all born on the onset of the golden 90s, like many of us Ås-students, which makes is easy to relate to they songs. They write about love, break up, and life in general, from the perspective of four girls. With songs like “Vondt i hjertet”, “Faen ta deg”, and “Syndere I sommersol” the mood will be on top. If you are getting over a break up, you can definitly sing the night away with Razika. The lyrics are honest and simple, but at the same time full of “faenskap”.

Live the band is energetic and give the audience a restlessness that will be turned into a sea of energy, dance and song in Festsalen. We look forward to the show!

Cheap Karma

Halvors Hybel, Wednesday 12th of October

From funk to hiphopinspired beats. Riffs veiled with noise and psychedelic atmospheres. Basslines that will drag you to the edge of your seat, but at the same time makes you so laidback you can fall of the chair. This is Cheap Karma.

In Febuary the band recorded an EP in England with Paul Reeve. Together with the former Muse-producer the band created a 5 track EP wich will be released 15th of September. They have played a lot of concerts from Denmark to Trondheim, and shared a stage with Lars Vaular, D´Sound, Madcon, Fjorden Baby and received a lot of great reviews.

"I try to work with bands who I feel I connect with, I like the singer, I like the songs, I like the vibe they're trying to create and Cheap Karma met all of those."

CC Cowboys

Aud.Max., Friday October 14th

CC Cowboys hardly need any further introduction. They are one of Norway’s most well known bands, and they have made quite a name for themselves in the world of Norwegian rock. Since their debut in 1990 they have become a favorite, and still hold the same reputation today. They are a hard working band, and with dozens of releases behind them they have performed at everything from big festivals and scenes to small, secluded bars. It’s about time they come back to Ås!

We are proud that we can offer CC Cowboys a spot in the UKA i Ås lineup. They are known for performing their asses off to excited audiences, be it a crowd of 30 or 3000. Their popular hits like “Tigergutt,” “Vill, Vakker og Våt,” and “Nå Kommer Jeg og Tar Deg” will be just some of the loved songs that will rock the atmosphere in Aud.Max. There is no doubt that everyone will be joining in in song this Friday! Come out for what will without a doubt be an unforgettable night celebrated in good old Ås style - an awesome and nostalgic concert experience - with a beer in each hand, singing along with good friends. We are so excited to see them here in October!

Arif

Festsalen, Friday 14th of October

In 2013 Arif Salum (27) said goodbye to his former alter ego Phil T. Rich, with the minialbum ”Aldri & Alltid”. This album marked a wish to work on as himself – Arif.

He invited us into a contrastingly universe through songs with beauty, and where the brutal honesty meets with the simple. His first single ”Kanke Gi Opp” with Magnus Eliassen were released in January. This song represented his brighter side. From playful pop about dating two girls at the same time, to textst about his own childhoodAbout his mother that came to Norway as an asylum seeker with two master degrees, but no hope for a job.

He sings about nazis in the neighborhoodmoney in trash bags, love and his way through the musical world in a time where Tungtvann opened the doors for Norwegian rap, and when Madcon made ”Beggin”. It is hope and lieugly and beautifulhigh and lowexpensieve and cheapgood and bad – it is Arif!

Turbonegro

Aud.Max., Saturday October 15th

“Oh no” you might be thinking, “Im gonna die tonight.” Well, at least there will be one hell of a last dance!

Omg. Turbonegro. This band is so freaking huge, both here at home and probably most of all abroad. When Lisa travelled in Australia the first question she was asked was: “ARE YOU FROM NORWAY?? SO YOU KNOW TURBONEGRO???”

There is a reason this band has Norway’s probably most dedicated and sect-like fan group calling themselves the “Turbojegend” and makes sure every single concert is filled by Turbonegro-hats and jean jackets. With songs like “City of Satan”, “All my friends are dead” and “Fuck the world”, the mood is set. It quickly turns into loud singing, sweat, blood and tears with figures like “Happy-Tom”, “The Duke of Nothing” and “Euroboy” at the stage of Aud.Max.

This concert will in other worlds be a little piece of hell in Ås. Come join the party!

Sonny Alven

Festsalen, Saturday October 15th

Sonny Alven is one of the newest addition to Norwegian musicians and producers that creates a racket abroad within the electronic genre. He came as a bolt of lightning in 2015 with the hit “Our Youth” and has since then toured worldwide with Kygo and has over 25 million plays on Spotify.

Lots has been said and written about him and his music, and he is often considered Norway’s hottest and most export friendly artist after Kygo. His music is dominated by fresh and catching electronic pop: its tropical, half-melancholy and has that great touch of long summer nights. First comes Kygo – now comes Sonny Alven! He is a very up-and-coming artist and we are very excited he will come to Ås before he takes off and becomes truly big!

Fasten your blinking shoes, put your glow stick behind your ear, and dust off your “Young, wild and free”-tattoo - we’ll see you at the concert! “They say our youth will fade away, but we’re you and wild if only for today.” Is there a better motto for Ås-students?!

Cezinando

Halvors Hybel, Wednesday October 19th

The young rapper from Oslo Cezinando released his first EP already at 16 years old. In the following years he has been very productive, releasing two albums at the age of 20, a third being released 6. Mai. February this year was a huge victory for Cezinando when he was named “Årets Urørt” on the main stage in Oslo with the song “€PA”. Among the judges was Veronica Maggio who said about Cezinando, “You have an incredible presence on stage! It is rare to see such glow at the same time as being completely relaxed” In other words, this is one of Norway’s hot and up-and-coming artist we are talking about. Cezinando are shown as a fresh breath in Norwegian hip-hop and is complimented both in his music and liveshow. He has a busy summer ahead, and we are confident he will further have perfected his show when coming to Halvors Hybel in October. This is the hip-hop scene in Norway’s biggest hope and you can see him at UKA in October!

So ready yourself, and keep eyes and ears open for more news about UKA. And please God (yes, we are two «sørlendinger» in the booking group) listen to the music! We think UKA i Ås 2016 is going to be crazy good.

NI LIV

Aud.Max., Friday October 21st

A barnyard party isn’t a barnyard party until a banjo or fiddle starts playing, and that’s exactly why Ni Liv will come join the party here at UKA!

The group Ni Liv comes from Telemark and plays catchy music by mixing americana, blues rock, and country perfectly. If we in Ås can’t show the boys in Ni Liv exactly how awesome a barnyard party can be, then no one can!

Follow in their style and just throw on a plaid shirt, cowboy boots and hat, and meet up in Aud.Max this Friday to have some country style fun!

Vazelina Bilopphøggers

Aud.Max., Friday October 21st

Allright Ås! This request has been shouted into our ears on several late nights in the Bodega. The band writes about their own start: “Vezalina Bilopphøggers them stared in “romjula” 1979 home in the brewing house of Arnulf Paulsen in Vindlingsbakken in Gjøvik”.

Now, 27 years later, Vazelina is ready to lead us safely through this years “barn party”. The band might not need further introduction; we are all of the generation that watched Vazelinas “hjulkalender” and learned to sing “Surfebrett” in music lessons at middle school. It will be a night where Ås-student can shed nostalgic tears, sing louder than ever before and the floor of Aud.Max. will sway under swing-dancing students. It will not get any more Ås than this! We don’t know if the rumors are true, but all of them are supposed to have gone to NMBU, on the old “bilopphøggerlinja” at NLH. In other words, they should know how to make a show in Aud.Max!

DUM DUM BOYS

Aud.Max., Saturday October 22nd

DUM DUM BOYS

Aud.Max., Saturday October 22nd

Of course we`re having one of “the four great” in Norwegian music come to UKA in Ås!

DumDum Boys are one of the flagships in Norwegian music history. Since 1985 they’ve sailed under the name DumDum Boys and created one hit after the other for a longer period than most of us have walked this earth. We`re simply talking about living legends of Norwegian rock! Maybe your parents took rhoypnol to “Englefjes” the night you were conceived, or maybe it was you who sat screaming “Splitterpiiiiiine” at a nachspiel last Friday?

DumDum Boys are eternally loved, and their music is still rocking as hard as it did in `88. There aren`t that many touring Norwegian bands that we can introduce to UKA in Ås with the same pride as the boys in DumDum Boys, and there`s no doubt: there`s going to be a huge party in Aud.Max this Saturday!

Skinny days

Festsalen, Saturday October 22nd

After only a year as a group, the duo Skinny Days have already been streamed over 5 million times on Spotify, had one of the best concerts during By:Larms and had their singles on the top lists of both Norway and Denmark.

The duo consists of Dag Holtan-Hartwig and Halvor Fostad, and their music is dominated by genius pop melodies that will make your dancing feet start moving. The music also has sharp contrasts of EMD, which make the music both catchy and easy to dance to. These guys are predicted to get big in the music arena, so we are lucky to snatch them up before they outgrow Ås.

Check out their music, dance to it in the next months of summer, because in October they will take Festsalen by storm during UKA I Ås. This will be a party!

Matilda

Halvors Hybel, Sunday 23rd of October

Matilda (Matilda Gressberg) from Eidskog, Norway, has at the age of 22 established herself as a complete artist and a high profile Norwegian act. Her debut single “When Something Ends” went all the way to number one on the official Norwegian radio chart, and the album “A Heart” is without a doubt one of the strongest and most impressive Scandinavian debut in many years. Matilda released her second album «Serendipity» in 2015, a personal and heartfelt album that took us through a year in the life of Matilda.

With Matilda’s last single “Ghost” she turned a new page and challenged her sound and was song of the week at P3, Norway’s leading youth radio channel.

Matilda possesses a unique voice, crystal clear, but also consisting of a strong and hard-to-describe characteristic. Add in a very good ear for melodies, blended with a knack for solid pop – and singer/songwriter tunes, and last but not least a good dose of overseas and Scandinavian folk. What we end up with is a particularly potent mix bound for stardom.

See her soft concert in Halvors Sunday 23rd of October!

Do you think your vocals will hold throughout UKA? Probably not. Why? Because one of Norways most sing-along friendly bands are coming to UKA on the friday of our last weekend: Postgirobygget! Its almost annoying how many of Postgirobygget's song one knows the lyrics to, theres not even gonna be time for bathroombreaks! One of Norways biggest and most beloved bands are ready for Aud.Max., and they expressed great excitment to return to the Ås-crowd. They have had many good concert experiences in Ås, but lets make UKA 2016 the best of the best! Join us in honring Postgirobyggets 20 year album in Aud.Max. This night and singing along to the hit songs of "Idyll", "En solskinnsdag", "Tidløs", "Sløv uten døp" and "Bohemen leve", and they just keep coming. Julie Bergan

Festsalen, Friday October 28th

Julie Bergan

Festsalen, Friday October 28th

Norways big, new pop-favorite Julie Bergan gave us last year the super hit “All Hours”. Going straight to Spotifys Top 50 in 18 weeks, and is one of the ten most played songs on radio in Norway AND Danmark. This smash has been top-rated on NRK P3, NRK mP3 and NRK, and has up until last week been on the VG-list for 17 weeks, where the first 8 it was safely within top 20, with a peak on 6th place.

Her last single “Arigato” – is her biggest hit so far. “Arigato” follows in the line of the hits “All Hours” and “I Kinda Like It”, that has altogether been streamed 20 million times, which has brought them both platina and gold in this country. It has been on top of the VG-list for weeks and with great trends she has charmed the whole North by showing up on TV-shows like “Senkveld” and “X-factor” and along with Tinie Tempah on “Idol”. Earlier this year she was also invited to go on tour with Jess Glynne, a tour that send her all around half of Europe to cheering crowds and sold-out concerts all over. She has also lately done a great job as a rapper in P3s much discussed re-mix of the famous Norwegian duo “Karpe Diem” in the song “Attitudeproblem”. And with “Arigato” Bergan combines more than ever her unique skill at bringing catchy hooks with her needle sharp attitude. A combination that is bounds to shape streaming lists and radio waves all summer, and way beyond.

Bergan herself says about the song:
“Arigato is about a boy that insists at taking care of me, and doesn’t let me do what I want most. It can be nice with relationships when one is younger, but at the same time this is a time to explore, learn and see the world, and then an overprotective boyfriend can soon be a stop sign. I am independent and don’t need another to take my choices, or take care of me. I’m a big girl, baby! I’m super excited about this songs, because I feel like I’m showing a tougher and different side of myself. I love dancing to this and I hope people will join me.

Veronica Maggio

Festsalen, Saturday October 29th

Veronica Maggio

Festsalen, Saturday October 29th

Veronica Maggio is one of the most awarded artists in Sweden, maybe even one of the biggest popsingers in Scandinavia.

Her music has followed many of us through our youth, accompanying our feelings of falling in love, of drinking wine and crying over a broken heart. Her songs are timeless. She writes about life and love, about happiness and heartache, and with a sense of honesty that few mainstream artists today can match. Her hits include songs like “Måndagsbarn”, “Hela huset”, “Satan i gatan” and “Jag kommer”, all of these from her four previous albums. This year, she released her fifth album “Den förste er älltid gratis”. It received brilliant reviews, and manifests her musical talents and ability to produce one hit after another.

29th of October, she will enter the stage at Aud.Max, and round off UKA i Ås. She is a true entertainer and fan favorite, and people in Ås will soon learn why. Her live performances are filled with energy, and she will give everything she has until the end of the show. What better way to round off UKA i Ås 2016, than to dance along to Veronica Maggio’s captivating hits all through the night?

Oslo Ess

Festsalen, Saturday October 29th

They loved Ås, and now they are coming back!

Oslo Ess is a punk-rock band that started their career back in 2010, in “Urørtfinalen”. After that, they have grown to be one of the most popular bands in Norway. Their live performances will rock you out of your shoes, so of course they had to come to UKA 2016! They started quite small, but once they entered the stage they represented a breath of fresh air to Norwegian rock. The band have released four albums and have performed at countless concerts.

In February this year, they released their album “Konge uten ei krone”, six years after they first started. Oslo Ess is known to give everything they have on stage, and they will sacrifice blood, sweat and tears to make sure people get the best possible live experience. If you thought Festsalen was full during Sondre Justad at miniUKA, this time it’s gonna be even crazier!

Ohnesorg is a subversively show collective. They translate protest songs from all over the world and play them their own way – often customized to our modern world and made for sing-a-long. Ohnesorg means “carefree” and is taken from the West-German student Benno Ohnesorg. He was shot down and killed by a policeman on his first demonstration in Berlin in 1967.

Sunday 30th of October Ohnesorg will fill Halvors Hybel with their Softeconcert.

After staying in the background for a while, Folkehelsa have finally bloomed up from the streets of the capital! The music is a mix of reinterpretations of traditional folk music, to selfproduced songs with critical texts and a bit of nordic sarcasm. The interaction between bass, vocal harmonies and violinplay, creates a wide expression where the playful and the serious from everyday life meet.
